Two drivers have escaped injury following a crash on a dual carriageway.

One lane of A2042 Avenue Jacques Faucheux in Ashford remains closed following the incident near the Designer Outlet.

A black BMW X4 and blue Toyota C-HR have suffered heavy damage after colliding between the junctions for Malcolm Sargent Road and Norman Road.

A police spokesperson said: “Police were called to a report of a collision involving two cars.

“Officers attended to assist with the recovery of the vehicles.

“Minor injuries were reported.”

The ambulance service said it "briefly attended the scene" but no one required hospital treatment.

One fire engine also attended to assist with “scene safety”.

All traffic heading towards the town centre was held by police, but one lane has now reopened.
