Victim held under water during brutal gang attack

A teenager was viciously attacked by a gang of men while walking though Ashford's Victoria Park.

The 18-year-old victim - who did not know his attackers - had his head held under water in the park's fountain and was repeatedly kicked, punched and jumped on during the incident in the early hours of Saturday morning.

He was taken by ambulance to the William Harvey Hospital for treatment to what are described as non-life threatening injuries.

It is not known how many people were in the gang who carried out the attack.

Two of the offenders are described as fat; one was wearing a grey hoody, the other had a grey hoody.

Police are keen to speak to anyone who has information about the attack or who was in Victoria Park beteen 1am and 1.30am on Saturday morning.
