It may have looked like a dead ferret stuck to his top lip
but reporter Luke Hollands' moustache has raised £100 for
charity.
He grew the offending item as part of a global charity campaign
to raise funds to fight prostate cancer and generally raise
awareness of men’s health issues.
The month-long campaign, Movember, encourages men across the
world to be sponsored for growing moustaches in November.
Luke said: “Growing a moustache may seem like an easy way to
raise cash but it’s amazing how much fuss a big bristly 'tache can
cause.
"During the past month I’ve been stared at, pointed at, laughed
at, and shouted at.
"A group of school children harassed me, a man in Shrewsbury
called me gay and a bunch of girls spent a train ride to London
laughing at me.
"But at the end of the day it’s been amazing to raise money for
such a worthy cause and to have an excuse to grow a massive manly
moustache as well.”
