Woman killed in M-way smash

A 66-year-old woman has died in hospital after the car she was travelling in was involved in an accident with another car towing a caravan on the M20.

The crash happened just afer 1.50pm on Sunday near junction 10 at Ashford.

Police say the cause of the accident is still unknown but it involved a VW Golf, which the victim was travelling in, and a Citroen car towing a caravan.

The woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries, but later died. Two other adults and two children in the VW Golf were taken to the William Harvey Hospital with minor injuries.

Two people, who are local to Kent, in the Citroen were also taken to hospital, but there injuries are said not to be life threatening.

The occupants of the VW Golf are from the Oxford area.

The road was closed at junction 10 for more then four hours to allow emergency services to attend the scene.
