Leon Camier could return to FIM Superbike World Championship action in Turkey this weekend less than a fortnight after being in a high-speed crash.

The Ashford rider was airlifted from the Nurburgring on September 1 when his Suzuki skidded on an oil patch.

But the 27-year-old has travelled to Istanbul and hopes to come through free practice tomorrow (Friday).

He said: “I’m still a bit beaten-up from the accident and although my neck is feeling a lot better, it’s not perfect. My arm and hand are giving me a bit of trouble because I don’t really have full feeling yet.

“I might have a bit of nerve damage and it still hurts a bit.”

Sunday’s two 18-lap races are at 9am at 12.30pm (UK time).
