More changes are afoot at the top of Folkestone Invicta Football Club following the shock resignation of chairman Gordon Wallis.

Jim Pellatt has been appointed as temporary chairman of Folkestone Invicta following the resignation of Gordon Wallis.

Mr Pellatt was vice-chairman during his predecessor's time in charge and has also served the club as company secretary.

Mr Wallis had taken over as chairman midway through last season to succeed the long-standing Bob Dix and has also stood down as a director. Mr Wallis, a previous chairman at Margate, did attend Tuesday night’s Shareholders’ AGM at Stripes Club.

A club statement said that “Gordon is owed a debt of gratitude for his work as a Director, and latterly Chairman of the Club, and in his short time as Chairman he has worked tirelessly with Neil Cugley to secure the signature of the quality signings the Club has made for next season’s squad. Additionally, Gordon has commenced a review of many aspects of the Club’s official activities, and the Board will be aiming to build constructively on those initiatives in the months ahead.”
