David Egan appeared in custody at Bromley Magistrates' Court yesterday accused of the 31-year-old's murder.

The 23-year-old, of Ashmead Road in Deptford, is also accused of possession of a firearm, robbery and possession of an offensive weapon.

A Dartford man, Jordan Bailey-Mascoll, was previously convicted of murder for his role in the death of Mr Pearce.

The 25-year-old was jailed in July 2018 and given a life sentence, with a recommendation he serve at least 35 years.

Mr Pearce was on his way home from a night out his girlfriend and two friends at Oliver’s Jazz Club on July 15, 2017, when he was attacked in King William Walk. A silver Rolex, worth around £5,000, was taken in the fatal incident.

A post-mortem examination gave the cause of death as multiple stab wounds, but police also found gunshot grazing and evidence of at least four shots fired in his direction.

At the end of the trial of Bailey-Mascoll, Mr Pearce's mother, Jan, released a statement saying: "Danny was randomly murdered in Greenwich.

"He left behind a family who loved him unconditionally, including two sisters and a brother. But it is not only us as adults suffering - Danny's nieces and nephews are grieving and it hurts them in different ways. How do you answer a child when they ask where Uncle Danny is?"

Egan has also been charged with two other robberies in the days prior to Mr Pearce's death.

He was remanded in custody to next appear at the Old Bailey on Tuesday.
