Air ambulance called after two trapped in M2 crash

An elderly couple were trapped inside a car after it ended up on its roof following a crash on the M2.

The couple aged in their 70s were trapped inside a white Renault Modus car after it collided with a lorry on the Londonbound carriageway between junctions 7 for Canterbury and 6 for Faversham before 2pm.

The Kent Air Ambulance and the Kent Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene.

The couple suffered minor injuries.

The woman was treated at the scene and the male was taken to Medway Maritime Hospital for treatment.
