Biker killed in four-veicle crash

Kent police were called to the scene of a road traffic collision on the A257, Rusham Road, Wingham on 3.7.07.

Four vehicles, a gold Toyota Corrolla, a white Ford Escort van, a blue Kawasaki 600 ZZR motorcycle, and a blue Honda BCR 600 motorcycle, were involved.

The circumstances that caused the collision are being investigated by the Serious Crash Investigation Unit (SCIU).

The driver of the Kawasaki, a 41 year-old Ramsgate man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Toyota, an 81 year-old woman from Sandwich, was trapped in her car and was cut free by the Kent Fire and Rescue Service. She was taken to QEQM hospital, where her condition is said to be serious.

The driver of the Honda was taken to QEQM with non life threatening injuries.

The driver of the Ford Escort van did not sustain serious injuries.

The road was closed while the SCIU attended.
