Euro Canterbury Ladies maintained their push for the Women’s Premier Division title beating University of Birmingham and drawing at Slough in a weekend double-header.

Player-coach Mel Clewlow and Tash Brennan scored twice inside the final five minutes, as they came from behind to claim the points in a 2-1 win against the West Midlands students on Saturday, and drew 0-0 at Slough on Sunday.

They are second a point behind leaders Leicester with a game in hand.

Canterbury men gained a hard earned English Hockey League Men's Premier Division point in a 2-2 draw against second placed Beeston at Polo Farm on Sunday.

They trailed early on, before skipper Matt Harper levelled five minutes later and Rob Pryce converted another free-hit four minutes before half-time to give the bottom side a surprise lead.

Beeston levelled in the second half, but Canterbury held onto claim only their third draw of the season.
