Canterbury scored three first-half tries on their way to an impressive 29-10 win over Taunton on Saturday.

The Somerset side led through a Gary Kingdom penalty before Canterbury prop Ruairi McLeod went over for the first try of the afternoon.

Ricky Mackintosh and Tom Rogers also touched down before half-time and Scott Browne extended Canterbury's half-time lead to 22-3 with a penalty.

A second try for Rogers after the restart ensured a bonus point for the home side.

Taunton lock Ben Turner went over for a converted try in the closing stages but it was no more than a consolation for the visitors.

The win leaves Canterbury ninth in National 2 South ahead of their trip to seventh-placed Launceston on December 8.
