Thieves made off with a unique car while its owner was tending the graves of his grandparents.

The man, in his 50s and from Canterbury,

parked the red Austin A55, converted to a pick-up truck, with a red leather interior, when he visited the cemetery at Golford Road, Cranbrook.

When he returned 30 minutes later the car, which was converted by a previous owner, had gone.

The car is a prized possession and the owner says he would be "overjoyed" to get it back.

Sgt Ray Masters said: "We would like to hear from anyone who has information about the current location of the car and hope that because it is so distinctive someone will have noticed it in their area."

The theft happened on Sunday, August 17, between 5pm and 5.30pm.
