Delays after lorry crash on A2 in Canterbury

Motorists travelling towards Canterbury are experiencing delays following a lorry crash.

Police and paramedics were called to the incident, which involved a truck and four cars, along the A2 coastbound near Harbledown at about 8.30am.

Eyewitness Lee Delves, from Whitstable, was travelling to Wincheap when he was caught in the congestion close to the Holiday Inn in Upper Harbledown.

"I didn't actually see it, but what appears to have happened is a lorry appears to have gone into the back of a car and pushed into a couple of others," the 45-year-old said.

"Traffic is moving - it's gone down to one lane. The inside lane is completely blocked off.

"There's one ambulance there at the moment and the police are there."

Mr Delves says a lane has since been reopened.
