Herne Bay striker Byron Walker has been on trial with League 1 side Oldham Athletic.

Walker has been out suspended since picking up successive red cards in the Kent League, but is back for Bay's final two games of the season.

Bay boss Simon Halsey (pictured) is delighted to have the 23-goal front-man for the game against Sevenoaks on Thursday night and Beckenham on Saturday.

"He is back and gagging to play," said Halsey, who has been without the forward for the last seven games due to dismissals against Erith and VCD last month.

Walker's exploits in helping Bay to the Kent League, Premier Division title have not gone unnoticed. He played for Oldham's reserves in midweek and netted from the penalty spot in a 2-1 Manchester Senior Cup win over Bury.

"Hopefully something can happen. If he can move to a Football League club that would be brilliant," Halsey said.

Walker is not on contract so Bay would be unable to command a fee.

Hasley said: "If he does move maybe we could try and get a pre-season friendly in the summer. We'll just enjoy having him while we can."
