A Herne Bay mother has been spared jail, despite picking her daughter up from school while four times over the drink-drive limit.
Kalia Scarman was stopped by police as she collected her six-year-old outside Pilgrims Way Primary School on Monday, June 8.
Canterbury Magistrates Court heard Scarman, of Prospect Hill, had drunk a mug of vodka and was found with 144 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millimetres of blood. The legal limit is 35.
The 36-year-old admitted the charge on Wednesday, June 24 and has been sentenced to 90 days in prison, suspended for two years. She must also pay £60 costs and has been banned from driving for two years. Scarman must also undergo alcohol treatment for six months and be subject to a two-year supervision requirement.
