Horse killed in collision with lorry

A RUNAWAY horse died and another was injured after they were in collision with a lorry on the A2 in the early hours of Friday morning.

It happened on the London-bound carriageway at Wincheap, Canterbury, after the animals galloped down an approach road.

It lead to the road being closed for several hours. A vet was called to the scene to treat the injured horse.

The windscreen of the lorry was shattered but the driver was not hurt.

The road was fully reopened on Friday morning.
