Injured biker makes recovery

A motorcyclist who suffered serious injuries when his bike collided with a car in Chartham has now regained consciousness.

The accident took place on the A28 near the junction with Rattington Street at 3.20pm on April 6 and involved a Red Volkswagen Polo and a black Honda motorbike.

The 22-year-old motorcyclist was thrown from his bike and suffered serious injuries.

He was taken to Kings College Hospital in London by the Kent Air Ambulance.

He is now conscious and has been moved onto a ward.

The driver of the Polo, a man in his 80s, was not injured.

Police are appealing for any motorists in the area of a serious road traffic collision at Chartham who have not already spoken to officers to come forward.
