Kent's Saggers gets England call

KENT cricketer Martin Saggers has been called into the England Test squad for the tour of Bangladesh which starts this week.

The 31-year-old pace bowler has been selected to replace the injured Lancashire all-rounder Andrew Flintoff, joining Kent wicketkeeper Geraint Jones in the squad.

Saggers has previously been overlooked by the Test selectors despite being the nation's leading wicket taker in 2002, claiming 200 wickets in the previous three seasons, and collecting 58 more this year despite having injury problems in the first half of the season.

England play their first match in Bangladesh in October 12, and the tour includes two Test matches and three one-day internationals, before moving on to Sri Lanka in mid-November.
