Woman ‘racially abused in supermarket car park’

Police are hunting a suspect after a man spat at and racially abused a woman in a supermarket car park.

The victim was reportedly approached by a stranger outside Asda in Sturry Road, Canterbury, who became verbally abusive towards her.

He is said to have levelled vile language and spat towards her before fleeing the area.

The incident occurred in a supermarket car park at 4.40pm on April 24, but was reported to the police two weeks later.

Following investigations, police have released an image of a man they believe can assist them in connection with the incidents.

Investigating officer PC Daniel Mills said: “We have been carrying out a number of enquiries since the incident was reported to us and have recently been given the image.

“Even though the man’s face is obscured we are hopeful someone may recognise him from his distinctive clothing.”
