Man hit by train at Canterbury West railway station suffers serious injuries

A man has survived being hit by a train at Canterbury West railway station.

The 43-year-old has been rushed to hospital with serious and life-changing injuries after he was struck shortly after midnight.

Officers from British Transport Police were called to the scene in Station Road West at 12.30am.

A spokesman said: "Officers attended alongside paramedics and a 43-year-old man was treated for injuries before being taken to hospital.

"His injuries are thought to be serious and life changing."

Late-night Southeastern services were delayed by the incident, which is not being treated as suspicious.
