WHEN a troupe of acrobats from the Mongolian State Circus have arrived in Canterbury to start rehearsals for Aladdin at the Marlowe Theatre they made history.

It is the first panto in the country to feature the acrobats, who will be tumbling, juggling and somersaulting their way across the stage when Aladdin opens on December 1.

“They will be spectacular,” promised director Paul Hendy. “It is the first time we have had anything like this in a panto and we are very excited. They are breath-taking.”

The five acrobats are also looking forward to the production: “We hope people will enjoy our acrobatics,” said Zaya Ariun.

* Aladdin runs from December 1 to January 20. For details call the box office on 01227 787787 or go to www.marlowetheatre.com
