Fire in Shalmsford Street, Canterbury, leaves one injured

A person has been injured following a fire in guttering.

Firefighters were called to the blaze on the first floor of a property in Shalmsford Street in Canterbury.

Crews performed first aid to the casualty at the scene who suffered minor burns to the arm, before they were passed into the care of paramedics.

Two fire engines were in attendance and crews used hose reel jets to extinguish the fire and dampen down hotspots.

The cause is believed to be accidental.
