FOUR friends lost nearly all their possessions when fire ripped through their Kent city home.

They were all at work on Saturday morning when the blaze started at the house in Brymore Road, Canterbury.

Although their belongings were destroyed, city firefighters rescued their cat. No one was hurt.

Neighbours raised the alarm at about 11am and two of the friends, Jasmine Wake and Chris Dyas, left work to return home.

Ms Wake said: "I managed to rescue my collection of records and CDs, but we have lost pretty well everything else we had."

Mr Dyas said they thought the fire started with an electrical fault in the television, though a fire spokesman said that had not been confirmed.

The blaze is not being treated as suspicious.

Ms Wake and Mr Dyas and their two other friends, Debby Green and Lucinda Alexander-Cooper, have lived in the rented house for almost two years.
