Arrest as crash in Ashford Road, Thanington, leaves woman seriously injured

A man in his 20s has been arrested on suspicion of drug-driving after a crash left a woman with serious injuries this morning.

Shortly after midnight, a red Subaru collided with a white Vauxhall in Ashford Road, Thanington .

A nearby police patrol arrived at the scene and the female driver of the Vauxhall was taken to a London hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the Subaru reportedly left the scene - but was arrested a short time later on suspicion of drug-driving and has been taken to a local hospital with leg injuries.

Officers searched the nearby River Stour as part of their inquiries into the crash, which happened at 12.20am.

Anyone with information or dashcam footage of either vehicle is asked to contact police.
