HUNDREDS of Kent Rotarians and guests will join colleagues at Canterbury Cathedral on Saturday, February 26, to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Rotary.

The Duke of Gloucester and the Lord Lieutenant of Kent, Allan Willett, will be among those attending the service, which will be conducted by the Bishop of Dover, the Rt Rev Stephen Venner.

The event has been organised by Rotary's District 1120, which covers Kent, East Sussex and parts of SE London.

Edwin Boorman, chairman of the Kent Messenger Group and a Deputy Lieutenant of Kent, will be presented with a Rotary International Certificate of Professional Excellence at a reception after the service.

Rotarians from District 1120 are in partnership with overseas clubs to help with projects for the supply of clean water, eradication of illiteracy, building low cost accommodation and starting up of small businesses.
