FORMER King’s School, Canterbury, rower Frances Houghton has retained her place in the Great Britain women’s quadruple scull crew for the World Championships.

The championships are taking place in Gifu, Japan, from August 28 to September 4.

Houghton, 24, won a silver medal with the crew at the Athens Olympics, and won the overall World Cup series this year.

The other members of the crew are Rebecca Romero, Sarah Winckless and Katherine Grainger.
