Third-bottom St Lawrence still have work to do in order to retain their Kent League Premier Division status after a 58-run defeat against Blackheath at Rectory Field on Saturday.

Home wicketkeeper Simon Williams claimed six dismissals, including four stumpings, as Saints were all out for 160, with Dominic Chambers (49, pictured) and Alex Day (35) their main scorers.

A winning draw against Folkestone at Cheriton Road still leaves Canterbury in the bottom two of Division 1, nine points adrift of third-bottom Sandwich.

Tim Wren, Luke Samarasinghe and Justin Macvicar took two wickets each as Folkestone finished on 137-9.

Paul Steer (52) and 48 apiece by openers Matt Jenkinson and Samarasinghe was the platform for Canterbury’s total of 212-9.
