Paddy Nolan: Tributes paid after man dies in A2 crash near Canterbury

Friends have taken to Facebook urging others to pray for a mother and young child fighting for life after a crash which killed a man.

Police said this morning that the woman and toddler remain in a critical condition in separate London hospitals.

They were both airlifted following the crash on the A2 near Canterbury at 2.30pm yesterday.

A man - thought to be the woman's husband and named locally as Paddy Nolan - was pronounced dead at the scene.

Mr Nolan and his family are thought to have been in a black pick-up truck towing a caravan at the time of the crash.

Those who knew him have taken to social media to pay their respects.

One well-wishers said: "Rest in peace , Paddy Nolan. Praying for his Young wife and baby tonight.

Someone called John Traveller Gossip said: "Paddy Nolan And His Wife And Child. RIP Paddy. Can Everyone Please Pray For The Baby And His Mummy They're Both Critical."

Alison Delaney said: "Rip Paddy Nolan. God watch over his wife and child help them get better. Life is so cruel."

Bridgey Casey Quinn said: "Rip to Paddy Nolan. A whole life ahead of him. God help his wife bab&.

"His child is fighting for his life. Please say a prayer for bab & his family. It really is a sin."

Others told of their sadness, and bemoaned the "cruel world we live in".

One other poster said "Just cant get over this. RIP Paddy Nolan - died in a car crash.

"May god give u the best bed in heaven."

Two air ambulances, police, paramedics and fire crews were called to the crash scene.

A black-pick-up truck was seen flipped onto its side, near to what appeared to be the wreckage of a caravan.

At one stage both carriageways of the busy road were closed, with traffic heavily backed up in both directions.

It fully re-opened at 2.30am.
