Whitstable Town boosted their survival hopes with a 1-0 win over Chipstead in a Ryman League Division 1 South six-pointer at the Belmont on Saturday.

Ian Pulman earned the Oystermen the points five minutes from time, but in truth the hosts should have wrapped the win up long before.

The win left Town three points clear of second-botton Ashford, who have a game in hand, but crucially drew Town level on points with Walton Casuals, who have played three games more than Mark Munday's (pictured) side.

The win also moved Town within four points of Chipstead, who have played two more games than the Oystermen.
