Whitstable Town manager Justin Luchford says last weekend’s shock win at Worthing will count for nothing if his side fail to get anything out of Saturday’s game against Chipstead.

Town beat high-flying Worthing 2-1 thanks to goals from Dale Skelton and Stuart Vahid in a game that Luchford (pictured) described as the side’s "best performance since I took charge of the club".

However, he has urged his side to build on that win with another three points against Chipstead this weekend.

He said: "The problem is to get them to play like that every week and I am struggling to put my finger on why we are so inconsistent.

"It’s annoying because I know the players are good enough, they proved that on Saturday.

"It’s all well and good patting ourselves on the back for winning at Worthing, but if we get beaten 3-0 or 4-0 by Chipstead it will all be a waste."

Dan Wisker will be missing against Chipstead after having to come off at Worthing with a recurrence of his thigh problem, but Vahid played the full 90 minutes to indicate he has shrugged off his knee injury.

It’s been a good week for the Oystermen, who have moved above Burgess Hill at the bottom of Ryman League Division 1 South after the League’s committee deducted the Sussex club three points for an "admin issue due to player registration".
