Woman in 50ft fall from window

A WOMAN of 22 is in hospital with serious injuries after falling about 50ft from a window in student accommodation above a shop.

A police spokesman said that it appeared the woman had climbed out of the window and guttering had given way, causing her to fall.

Ambulance crews and police officers attended the incident in the Buttermarket, Canterbury.

On-call doctor Alan Jones also attended the scene and paramedics set up two lines to the woman before putting her on a long board and taking her to the QEQM Hospital in Margate.

She was later transferred to Kent and Canterbury where she remained yesterday.

An ambulance spokesman said that the woman suffered facial injuries and fractures to her jaw, pelvis and both legs.

The incident is not being treated as suspicious.
