Billings reacted to the news on Twitter, saying: "Good to be back."

From England’s T20 World Cup squad, 11 players will remain Down Under when the series starts at the Adelaide Oval on Thursday, November 17.

Seam bowler Olly Stone will aim to add to his four one-day caps, having last played for England in this format in October 2018 against Sri Lanka.

Hampshire batter James Vince returns to the squad too. He last featured in July 2021 at Edgbaston against Pakistan.

The series will be played over six days. They will play at the SCG, Sydney, on November 19 and Melbourne’s MCG on Tuesday, November 22.

Pembury-born wicketkeeper Billings penned a contract extension until at least the end of the 2025 season in July but sustained a groin injury towards the end of the summer.
