KEY: century from 111 balls

ROB KEY scored his 14th century for the county as Kent marched on to 162 for three in reply to New Zealand's 409 all out.

Key, out of the England frame since the Australian tour of 2003, reached the milestone from 111 balls and with 18 fours as Kent made a respectable response.

The hosts lost David Fulton for nine and then Ed Smith for seven, but re-grouped through through Key and Matthew Walker (32).

Walker finally went pushing at medium-pacer Daryl Tuffey to end a stand worth 90, but Michael Carberry looked in solid form to give Key decent company.
