McKean off to Poland

PARALYMPIC rower Alistair McKean heads for Poland next week in a pre-Beijing regatta at Poznan.

The 29-year-old former schoolteacher, who lives at Whitstable, is a member of the Great Britain Adaptive Rowing squad and will compete in the coxed four alongside former Deal Rowing Club captain James Morgan, who joined the squad last year.

They won gold at the Varesse Regatta in Italy in April and Morgan said: “I enjoyed my first paralympic class race and was impressed with the professionalism of the squad.”
