A man has a badly broken leg after becoming the victim of a hit-and-run.

The 23-year-old was walking home after a night out and as he went to cross the road, was hit by a vehicle which then drove off, leaving him lying in the road.

He has had to have a number of metal pins inserted into his leg and has been told he will have to use either crutches or a wheelchair for a minimum of two months, possibly longer.

Now officers are appealing for anyone who saw the incident - which happened at about 2am on Sunday, February 19 on Shepherds Lane, Dartford, at the junction with Christchurch Road - to get in touch.

PC Donald McAllen said: "This was a very serious incident and the man has been left with extremely bad injuries.

˜We are appealing for anyone who may have information about the incident to come forward."
