Leaders Dartford suffered their third leage defeat of the season as they went down 2-0 to Sutton United at Princes Park on Saturday.

The Darts enjoyed plenty of possession - but a goal in each half from James Norwood and Sam Gargan saw the visitors travel home with the points.

Sutton took the lead seven minutes before half-time when the Darts allowed Steve Watts far too much time to pick out Norwood, and he turned it home past Andy Young.

Former Gills midfielder Alan Pouton was running the game for Sutton and he twice went close from free-kicks in the first half.

The best Dartford could muster before the break was a Danny Harris effort that cleared the crossbar.

The hosts continued to press in the second half.

Elliot Bradbrook put a shot wide before keeper Kevin Scriven denied top scorer Lee Burns when he was clean through.

Carl Rook came off the bench but the substitute failed to connect with the ball inside the six-yard-box to score what would have been his first goal for the club before the debutant looped a free header over the bar.

Dartford always left themselves open on the counter-attack but it was poor play by Jamie Coyle trying to dribble out of defence that led to the points being wrapped up - Gargan getting the final touch to make it 2-0.
