Peter Tucker won the re-arranged Les Witton Dartford 10 on Sunday and promptly embarked on a second lap of the course.

Tucker (pictured), representing Dartford Harriers, crossed the line in 56 minutes. He finished 31 seconds clear of second-placed Stephan Thackeray from Beckenham Running Club.

That wasn’t enough for the 31-year-old, however. Tucker ran the course for a second time before returning to collect his medal.

Race director Dave Behagg said: "It was a good win for Peter. He went round again afterwards and got back in time for the presentation. He did the second lap in under an hour as well."

Tina Oldershaw (Paddock Wood) won the women’s race in 1:30.35, coming home 10th overall in a field of 274 finishers.

That figure was well down on previous years, explained by the postponement of the race from its original date of January 20. Heavy snow meant the race had to be rescheduled, leaving Behagg to find a new date for the third year running.

He said: "It’s important for us to get the race run, not to miss a year. It’s disappointing it wasn’t in the correct slot for us and the aim is to get back to the third weekend in January next year."
