Flood alert issued for River Darent from Westerham to Dartford

A flood alert has been issued for a river running through Kent.

The alert has come into force for the River Darent from Westerham to Dartford and flooding is possible.

Heavy rain means there is also a chance that Brasted, Sundridge, Chipstead, Dunton Green, Otford, Eynsford and South Darenth could experience floods.

The Environment Agency has issued the warning and is advising those nearby to be prepared.

People are being told to monitor local water levels and weather conditions and to avoid using low lying footpaths or entering areas prone to flooding.
