Foreign lorry driver arrested after Dartford Crossing pile-up

A truck driver has been arrested after his lorry was involved in a pile-up at the Dartford Crossing.

The multi-vehicle accident happened near the tunnel's toll booths at around 6.45am on Wednesday.

It caused lengthy delays on the M25 throughout the morning and up to 16 miles of tailbacks in the heart of the rush-hour.

Two lorries and four other vehicles were involved in the crash and two people were injured.

Kent Police have quizzed the driver of a foreign registered lorry after he was arrested at the scene.
