AN EXHIBITION in Dartford is aiming to collate the thoughts and ideas of residents to help shape the future of the town.

Visitors to the exhibition are being invited to let their voices be heard and to fill out feedback forms that are also available.

Held in the Orchards Shopping Centre until Wednesday, it is hoped the project will give residents the ideal opportunity to have their say on the town's direction.

The exhibition relates to Dartford Council's consultation on a significant planning policy – the Area Action Plan.

The plan highlights the need for more leisure and entertainment facilities, including the replacement or regeneration of the swimming pool on Lowfield Street and the proposed addition of a bowling alley, cinema or ice rink.

The proposals split the town into three distinct areas – Station district, seen as an ideal location for new home and community facilities, Orchards district, a retail and leisure zone and River district, where new retail and residential facilities are proposed.

The exhibition is open to members of the public between 10am and 4.30pm from Thursday, September 20 to Wednesday, September 26. It will not be open on Sunday, September 23.

It will also be in the Civic Centre on Friday, September 28, and Monday, October 1, from 5pm-8pm.
