The new shop is to be open for takeaway and click and collect only.

Customers can indulge in a range of firm favourite sandwiches and sweet treats, as well as the expanding vegan-friendly range, including the vegan steak bake and vegan sausage roll.

The shop’s staff will be on hand to serve an array of hot drinks from peppermint and green tea to Americanos and the festive salted caramel latte.

The opening comes as Greggs announced it would be opening 20 new shops across the UK during the remainder of 2020.

Its Bluewater branch will join the existing 300 shops and more than 50 bars, restaurants and cafes at one of Kent's most popular shopping centres.

Roisin Currie, retail and people director for Greggs, said: “We’re delighted to be able to invest in Kent bringing new jobs to the area and providing both new and existing customers with a modern and convenient new shop.”

The shop opening times are 7am to 8pm Monday to Saturday and 8am to 8pm on Sunday.

Bluewater reopened yesterday following the end of the national lockdown and is now following Tier 3 local guidelines.

This meant its non-essential shops could reopen as well as restaurants and cafes who will be offering delivery and takeaways to go only.

All leisure facilities, including the Showcase Cinema remain closed until further notice.
