Gun-wielding woman in filling station hold-up

A DRIVER who may have witnessed an armed robbery as he pulled into a petrol station is being sought by Kent Police.

The potential witness stopped at the Esso garage in Princes Road, Dartford, shortly after 2am on Thursday.

He is believed to have motioned towards the cashier to ask her to activate the pump, at the same time as she was being confronted by a woman, armed with a handgun.

The robber walked into the shop and selected a drink from the chilled drinks cabinet. She then approached the till and demanded cigarettes and cash.

Once a quantity of cash had been handed over, she made off on foot out of the shop and garage and towards Shepherds Lane.

The cashier was shocked but unharmed in the incident.

The armed robber was described as white, aged 26 to 28 and short. She was wearing blue jeans, a light blue jacket and a baseball cap, which was pulled down to hide her face.

Det Con Gerry Marsh, who is investigating the incident, said: “This was a particularly shocking incident for the cashier and we urge anyone with information to come forward.

“We would particularly like to trace the driver who pulled up at one of the pumps as the robbery was taking place.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Det Con Marsh on 01474 565091 or Crime Stoppers, in confidence, on 0800 555111.
