Police find missing John Bentley from Gerdview Drive, Wilmington, safe and well

Police have found a pensioner safe and well after he went missing from his home in Wilmington.

John Bentley was reported missing from his home in Gerdview Drive at 10am this morning.

The 88-year-old was believed to be riding a red pushbike with dropped handlebars.

Mr Bentley is 5ft 5in tall, of a slight build with thinning grey/brown hair.

He is thought to be wearing a maroon hat and gloves, black cycling tights and black leather shoes.

Mr Bentley's name and address are on the saddlebag on his bike.

Inspector Darren Reynolds said: "We are becoming increasingly concerned for John’s welfare and ask anyone who sees him to contact police immediately."
