Dartford Lions Club presents defibrillator to the Sikh Temple in Dartford

A life-saving piece of equipment has been donated to a place packed with worshippers every week.

Avtar Sandhu, president of the Dartford Lions Club, presented the defibrillator to the Sikh Temple in Highfield Road, Dartford.

The Guru Hargobind Sahib Gurdwara is attended by hundreds of people a week.

It was agreed at the Lions' club meeting months ago to fund the defib, but due to a shortage of supplies the presentation has only just taken place.

Mr Sandhu said: "Dartford Lions Club is here for all members of the local community. All funds are raised by our local residents and are generally invested back into the local community.

"The fact that we have supplied this machine to the Gurdwara is a true example of our club contributing to the local residents of Dartford.

"I would also urge anyone who needs the support of our club to contact us – it’s all about working together."
