Man found unconscious in Dartford town centre

A man found unconscious in Dartford town centre in the early hours of the morning may have been attacked, police belive.

Officers spotted the 30-year-old, who is from Dartford, sprawled on the ground in Spital Street at about 2.30am on Sunday (November 14).

They believe he may have been the victim of an assault because he had suffered head injuries and a broken nose.

He was taken to Darent Valley Hospital where his injuries were assessed and he has since been transferred to a hospital in London where he is in a stable condition.

Detective Inspector Ian Dampier, from North Kent police station, said: "Because of the nature of the victim’s injuries he is being kept sedated and as a result we have been unable to speak to him about what happened.

"It is likely however, that a number of people enjoying a night out in the town centre, may have seen what occurred. We would like to trace in particular a white man in his 20s, who was wearing a green checked shirt and dark trousers."

If you witnessed the incident or have any information which may help police with their inquiries, contact Det Insp Dampier on 01474 366091 or Kent Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
