Pensioner among burglars who rob 84-year-old in Swanley

A group of thugs, including a pensioner, have robbed an 84-year-old after barging into his Swanley home and knocking him to the floor.

The elderly man was shaken but uninjured during the incident at his home in Northview on New Year’s Eve.

Detectives are hunting the gang, one of whose members is described as being in his 60s with grey or white hair. The other two men are thought to be in their 20s.

Their victim saw the three men in the hallway of his ground floor flat when he heard a noise and went to investigate at about 2.45pm on Friday, December 31.

One of the men said they were there to fix his radio, before barging into him and pushing him to the floor. They searched through his pockets and took an undisclosed amount of cash before leaving.

Police believe the men may have forced a window in the flat, believing it to be empty.
