Police appeal following armed robbery

POLICE are appealing for witnesses following an armed robbery at a post office yesterday (Mon).

A man entered Hartley Post Office, in Ash Road, Hartley, at about 10.20am with a gun and demanded cash.

After failing to get into the safe, he emptied the cash till and left the shop.

Police believe the man then went to nearby cul-de-sac, Broomfields, and got into a dark coloured vehicle which drove off towards Ash Road.

They have described the man as white, aged 40-45, of medium build with short, dark brown hair. He was wearing a green anorak, black tracksuit bottoms, black boots and was carrying a rucksack.
