The police are appealing for a driver, who witnessed a car nearly crash with an oncoming vehicle, to come forward as it will help them with a serious crime investigation.

Police say the man, thought to be middle-aged to elderly, and his passenger were travelling behind a silver Astra with two men inside.

The driver of the Astra was speeding and driving in a dangerous and erratic manner. It then nearly crashed with an oncoming vehicle, also a silver Astra, driven by two women at about 3.30pm on Saturday (April 14) on Russett Way, Swanley.

The witness is believed to have reacted to the near miss with a gesture of shock or surprise.

The Astra and witness behind it were heading north on Russett Way towards Leyden Hatch Lane.

The witness, or anyone else who may have seen the incident, is asked to call Detective Sergeant Karen Festing on 01732 379 141 or Kent Police on 101.
