Pressure on Dartford for trip to struggling Boreham Wood in Ryman League

Dartford boss Tony Burman is well aware of the pressure his side will be under when they travel to winless Boreham Wood on Saturday.

Rock-bottom Wood were promoted along with the Darts from the Ryman League Premier Division last season but have found the new level even more difficult to get accustomed to than the 14th-placed Darts.

Burman said he expected Wood to raise their game in a bid to get off the mark.

"We will be under pressure," said Burman. "Bromley had the pressure on them when they came to us and we wanted to be the first team to beat them.

"We didn’t manage it but I expect Boreham Wood will be raising their game to try and get their first win."

Darts have lost three of their opening four games on the road this season and are awaiting their first win.

Burman said: "We’ve got to start somewhere and Boreham Wood is as good as anywhere.

"We got a draw at Thurrock which stopped us getting into a rut and we are due a win.

"We know Boreham well and they have been finding it tough but we know it will be a difficult game. We are starting to get stronger."
