A man was taken to hospital with suspected head injuries after his quad bike collided with a car.

Dartford fire crews were called to the incident at the junction of Highfield Road and Summerhill Road, Dartford, at 6.41pm yesterday.

Police and ambulance services were already at the scene and both lanes of the one-way road were closed to allow paramedics to treat the injured man, thought to be in his 20s.

A spokesman for Dartford fire service said: “We were called because the bike was leaking some kind of liquid but we quickly established it wasn’t flammable. We helped the paramedics lift the man onto a stretcher and he was taken to hospital in the ambulance.”

The driver of the car was not thought to have been injured.
